Power of Influence 2020: Small Business Awardee
Meet Megan Fazio, @meganfazio, awardee of our Power of Influence 2020 list in the Small Business category
Megan is one of the most trusted publicists in Las Vegas and the founder and CEO of Neon PR. An award winning PR agency representing clients in the hospitality, entertainment, and non-profit sector. Her work has landed her in the top 40 under 40 by Vegas Inc which is obviously no surprise to us. When she’s not busy attaining high visibility for her clients, you can find her sharing fashion, beauty, and lifestyle inspiration on her blog: Blogzio.
Here’s a recap of what she shared with us:
The Influencer Lab: How do you use your Influence to empower other women?
Megan: As an entrepreneur, my proudest accomplishment is having built a company that has gained acclaim through the stellar work my team does for our clients and the relationships we build in this amazing city. Becoming a bit of an “influencer” in my own right, I’ve been fortunate to grow a fun personal brand in tandem with my business brand – which has positively affected my business world. I think it’s empowering to build a company, but it’s also empowering to let people into your personal life – gone are the days of not being able to mix biz with pleasure (especially in Vegas!) and I strive to show people that as a woman and as a business owner, I believe having a life is also what breathes life into my company and my work.
The Influencer Lab: What is your secret to growing a highly engaged audience?
Megan: Responding to everyone in comments and in DMs! The point of social media is being social after all, right? And it’s definitely a two-way street. Showing love on other people’s posts you enjoy shows the love right back and keeps us all engaged.
The Influencer Lab: What three things are you focusing on to steady yourself and your business during these uncertain times of a COVID-19?
Megan: Despite the interruption in contracts for our PR clients during this unprecedented pandemic, I’m still focused on providing services pro bono for our clients who have stuck by us for years. It is my goal to make sure our clients maintain whatever business or notoriety they can during this time, and our local media has been awesome at helping spotlight to-go services for restaurants and positivity in the community. Standing by our clients has given me so much focus and has allowed me to feel like we’re all in this together.
I still do what I can to maintain a ‘normal’ routine and find it imperative to continue to get up early and listen to podcasts like I normally do, make myself a healthy breakfast, and do my Five Minute Journal. I’m also taking time to play subject for a few of my photographer friends who don’t want to shut off their creativity which in turn has given me some awesome content!
